UNDERNEATH THE ACADEMICS: EDUCATORS

When their effort and their progress don't match, look underneath.

You've tried every strategy. Your students are working so hard. And still, the gains don't match the effort, theirs or yours. Often the missing piece isn't more practice. It's what's happening underneath the learning, in the body and the brain.

Does this sound like your classroom?

  • Students who can't sit still, or who slump and prop up their heads
  • Readers who lose their place, skip lines, or tire out fast
  • Kids who know it one day and lose it the next
  • Big feelings and short fuses that derail learning time
  • Little to no budget for training, evaluations, or materials

These aren't motivation problems. They're often clues that a child's foundation is still doing extra work, leaving less energy for reading and focus.

What I'm building for educators

A simple, classroom-friendly way to see what's underneath and know what to do about it. Start with the course, then keep growing in the membership.

Step 1: Underneath the Academics: Educators

A short course that teaches you the lens: how foundational movement shapes attention, behavior, and learning, so you can spot what's going on with your students.

Bring it to your classroom

Simple daily movement routines that fit into real reading time, with real kids, and no special equipment.

Step 2: Brain Body Learning Lab

After the course, join the membership for monthly meet-ups and fresh ideas for bringing movement into your classroom, so you're never figuring it out alone.

Jessie Forston

Hi, I'm Jessie Forston

I've spent 26 years in education, starting in the classroom. Today I help families and teachers get to the root of why children struggle with learning and behavior.

I'm a licensed teacher (M.Ed.), an Orton-Gillingham trained reading specialist, and a certified NeuroDevelopmental Movement consultant. My work brings together movement, literacy, and positive psychology, and I'd love to share it with you.
